Guido was born in Naples, son of a diplomat, Enrico Colucci. In 1885 his father was transferred to Bastia (Corsica) as consul general. Guido studies at the Liceo San Frediano in Lucca and at the Technical and Nautical Institute of Genoa. He graduated in Florence in Social and Political Sciences. In Florence he organizes his own artist studio and followed a private engraving course, held by Giovanni Fattori.
He exhibited in Paris in 1913. From 1914 he spent the summer in Corsica, in Bastia, since he married Edith Soutwell, an English young lady born in Corsica. During the first World War, he was wounded in 1915, and lost an eye.
Guido returned to Florence in 1920 and at the Leonardo da Vinci Society exhibited painted furniture, ceramics, engravings and drawings. He produced the colored engravings of La Vita Nova series, of the Palio di Siena series, published in volume and on postcard by the Publisher Alinari.
In 1928 he visited Sardinia to gather ideas on traditional Sardinian clothing. The first series of Sardinian Costumes is today in Rome, at the Museum of Popular Arts and Traditions.
