LINO SELVATICO (Padua 1872 - Treviso 1924) PORTRAIT OF A YOUNG LADY SEATED, WITH HAT AND MUFF (AUTUNNO)
Etching and drypoint, ante 1910. A very good impression on wove; titled and signed in pencil at bottom 'Autunno / puntasecca / L. Selvatico'. With very large margins, in very good condition. To the platemark 292 x 175 mm, the entire sheet measuring 467 x 352 mm.

A painter and an etcher, Lino Selvatico was son of Riccardo, poet, playwright, and founder of the Venice Biennale. Lino began his studies to pursue a legislative career, but after some years of law school decided to devote himself exclusively to painting. He started his career in the Third Biennale (1899), exhibiting portraits that met critical acclaim; since then his participation at the Biennale and other important events was extremely active.
