Etching, Mezzetti 415, 1878, after Tranquillo Cremona. A fine impression in black ink on wove paper, with partial watermark. With full margins, in fine condition. 175 x 120 mm; the full sheet measuring 485 x 327 mm. Numbered at bottom margin in black chalk 228.

At the young age of 18 years Rapetti was introduced to Tranquillo Cremona, by Raffaele Casnédi, professor at the Brera, with the task of translating in etchings the inventions by Cremona. He undertook the task with passion and excellent results. His etchings, that Amalia Mezzetti has not hesitated to call la parte più fresca e spontanea della sua produzione, all date back to this period of contact with Cremona, 1877/78. Rapetti was not limited to the reproduction etchings of but was also able to create original compositions. Mezzetti particularly praises his Paesaggio, that she defines di gusto grubiciano.
