Hokutei, still life with a slice of salmon

lente

JOREN HOKUTEI (active 1820's ) STILL LIFE WITH A SLICE OF SALMON AND A BAG OF SEAWEED
Colour woodblock print, shikishiban surimono. Signed Joren Hokutei sha. The print is by sure an egoyomi: there are at least 5 numbers hidden upside down on the bag of seaweed, much probably they are the long months for the year of the dragon 1820, but I am not able to find the missing number 8.
Very good impression, with blind printing on the salmon and mica on its skin. Good colour, a wormhole restored at bottom. See here an image of both recto and verso; 194 x 181 mm.

Hokutei was a pupil of Hokusai. We know a few surimono designed by him in the 1820's
