Black chalk, stumped, signed V. Bignami and dated 23 Ottobre 1926. Dedicated to Bignami's pupil Filiberto Minozzi, 200 x 145 mm.

Vespasiano Bignami was a protagonist of Milanese Scapigliatura. He was a painter (much appreciated as a portraitist), a art critic, a teacher at the Brera. He also was a poet and a journalist and was a leader founder of the Famiglia Artistica, a Milanese artists' society that sponsored annual exhibitions.
