Etching, not recorded by Mezzetti. A very good impression, printed on strong wove paper, signed and dated in the plate Bazzaro E 1934, dedicated, signed and dated in pen Alla Gentilissima Signora Anna Foppa Pedretti per la stima di lunga / amicizia Bazzaro Ernesto 4 dicembre 1934. A later state of this etching exists, titled in the plate MESTIZIA; see sale catalogue Finarte, Milan, 10 November 2004, lot 536. To the platemark 326 x 203 mm, the entire sheet measuring 437 x 314 mm.

A sculptor who also practiced printmaking, Ernesto Bazzaro, the brother of the painter Leonardo, studied at the Brera Academy under Ambrogio Borghi, but was deeply influenced by the anti-academic spirit of the sculptor Giuseppe Grandi and the painters Daniele Ranzoni and Tranquillo Cremona. Ernesto Bazzaro produced many impressive monuments, created figural decorations for Milanese building facades and also produced a number of small bronzes in commercial editions. In the etching technique Ernesto Bazzaro has been influenced by the works of Giuseppe Grandi and Luigi Conconi, the leading exponents of the 'acquaforte monotipata' in Lombardy.
