Born in Milan, Alberti completed his studies as a sculptor at the Brera Academy under Pietro Magni and Riccardo Ripamonti. In the first part of his activity, he was certainly also influenced by Achille D'Orsi, the Neapolitan sculptor who enjoyed great success in Milan in the eighties of the nineteenth century, with his works of social realism, inspired by the dramas of work and marginalization. After having achieved great international success, Alberti reaches a more classic and personal style, which gives him numerous public commissions in Milan. Painter, as well as sculptor, in his paintings he preferred the subjects of landscapes. In 1930 a retrospective exhibition dedicated to him was organized in the Pesaro Gallery in Milan.
