According to Giannantonio Moschini (1773-1840) Brustolon was a pupil of Giuseppe Wagner and a friend of Pietro Antonio Novelli. He was a sensitive reproductive etcher. His most famous series were: Prospectuum Aedium, viarumque insigniorum urbis Venetiarum ... Tomus Primus, being 12 plates (later increased to 22) copied from Visentini's series after Canaletto, published by Furlanetto in 1763. Le feste Ducali, of 1766 - early 1770s, with 12 plates after Canaletto, also published by Furlanetto.
Brustolo asked a privilege in 1780 for a set after Canaletto's drawn views in Rome.
