Colour woodblock print, Aiban. 340 x 237 mm. Titled Uchida Saburo, signed Shuntei ga, mark of the publisher Moriya Jihei. No censorship seal.
Very good impression, the colour well retained, full sheet. Light traces of two horizontal creases. I am not able to find other impressions of the print. Our specimen is on a quite thin paper, possibly because not destinated to the sale.
Uchida Ieyoshi (died 1184) was a warrior of the Kiso Minamoto clan who was most famous for dying at the hands of Tomoe Gozen, the celebrated female samurai, at the Battle of Awazu, during the Gempei War.
Shuntei was a pupil of Katsukawa Shunei.
